Richard Mason is a regional actor/director based in Columbus, Ohio. He received his MFA from the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and is a member of all three actor unions (SAG, AFTRA, and AEA). Richard taught for 2 years at MOUNTVIEW Theatre School, London, England and at The American Conservatory Theatre’s YOUNG CONSERVATORY and occasionally taught opera students basic acting skills at Northwestern University. He founded Acting in Columbus in 1998 after relocating to the Columbus area.

His film and television credits include: BIRDY (Tri-Star), THE FATHER DOWLING MYSTERIES, and most recently THE KILL POINT (Spike TV), THE COURIER (Sabo Films) and THE ENDANGERED. Commercial credits include MASTERCARD Priceless with Peyton Manning, Ohio Lottery, Pennsylvania Lottery, Aldelphia Wireless, and Safe Auto to name a few.  Industrial clients include Sprint, Nationwide, Value City Furniture, Honda of Marysville and Wendy’s International.

Richard has recently added Casting to his credentials. After 10 years of training and working with hundreds of actors, in this region, casting emerged as the next obvious step of his career. Some of his location principal casting on feature films (assisting Donna Belajac, CSA) includes: HOMECOMING starring Mischa Barton and SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE, DreamWorks. National commercials include GATORADE, GE and SUBWAY along with several local spots. Extra casting includes HOMECOMING, SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE and SPEAK starring Kristen Stewart (filmed entirely in Columbus, Ohio).

Richard has been involved with many theatres – acting and directing.
